Woman allegedly raped by truck driver in UP's Ayodhya, accused dismisses charges

The woman, who works as a maid for preparing food for the passengers alleges that the driver followed her to a room, tied her and raped her.

Adding to the list of increasing rape cases across the nation, a woman was allegedly raped by a truck driver in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on Monday. 

According to the victim, who works as a maid for preparing food for passengers, the tourist vehicle from Gujarat was lodged near a pilgrimage centre when the driver approached her to bring water. The driver followed her to the room and tied her before sexually assaulting her. 

Following the complaint filed by the victim at the nearby Ayodhya Kotwali Police Station, the police arrested the truck driver. The woman has been sent for further medical examination. 

Meanwhile, the accused truck driver has dismissed the sexual assault charges filed against him.
