After two women inmates died in a hospital here, two officials of a Patna shelter home were detained on Sunday for questioning, cops said.

A Special Investigation Team was constituted to probe the death, said Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj.

“One of the bodies has not been disposed yet, we have requested for another post-mortem. People in the organisation are being questioned, action will be taken against those at fault,” ANI quoted DM of Patna Kumar Ravi as saying.

On Friday, two 'Aasra' inmates, aged 40 and 18, died at the Patna Medical College and Hospital. The reason for the death was not immediately known.

Though shelter home officials said the two died at the hospital, the latter's officials on Sunday denied it and said that the inmates were "brought dead", reported news agency IANS.

The incident has been reported after the revelations about the rape of at least 34 minor girls at a similar home in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.

In July, the case came to light.

On the basis of a social audit done by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, an FIR was filed by the Social Welfare Department.
