Maharashtra: Road mishap claims two lives in Nagpur

According to police, the excavator was coming from the wrong side and the motorcycle rider failed to spot it due to dark on Monday night, a police official said.

Two men were killed and another injured when their motorcycle collided with an excavator on Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway in Nagpur district of Maharashtra, police said,on Tuesday.

According to police, the excavator was coming from the wrong side and the motorcycle rider failed to spot it due to dark on Monday night, a police official said.

The deceased are identified as Sushant Nagdevte (20), Prithviraj Jadhav (21) and Shubham Wagh (22), he said.

Kalamna police station inspector Vishwanath Chavan said Jadhav and Nagdevte died on the spot, while Wagh was battling for his life in hospital.

Police have booked the excavator driver Yashvant Shahu under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicle Act.
