Adding to the spate of train accidents in the past few months and second in the day, two coaches -- the engine and power car -- of the Ranchi Rajdhani Express were derailed on Thursday near the Minto Bridge in Delhi.

No casualties have been reported as of now. "Only engine and Power car are affected. Speed was very less. No injury to any passenger," said CRPO.

Further details are awaited.

The incident comes hours after seven coaches of the Howrah-Jabalpur Express derailed near Sonbhadra in Uttar Pradesh this morning, which was believed to be a result of damaged tracks. 

 

On August 19, the Utkal Express had derailed in Muzaffarnagar district, killing 22 people and injuring 156.

About 100 passengers were wounded when 10 coaches of Kaifiyat Express train derailed after crashing into a dumper which strayed on to the tracks in Auraiya district on August 23.
