In an attempt to corner Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the Rafale deal, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the French President (without taking the name) told him that the PM asked them to give contract to Anil Ambani if they wanted the biggest defence deal to happen with India.

Addressing Yuva Kranti Yatra at Talkatora Stadium in Delhi, the Congress president alleged that Modi stole opportunities from youth to give Rs. 30,000 crore to Anil Ambani.

"I know you don't sleep at night. When you sleep you see the image of Anil Ambani and martyred soldiers of Indian Air Force," Rahul added.

Taking a swipe at Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Rahul said she blatantly lied in Parliament and claimed that the price of Rafale is a secret, while, Dassault's Annual Report openly states the price.

Speaking on the removal of Alok Verma from the post of CBI director, Rahul said CBI chief was removed at midnight because PM Modi feared an investigation on the Rafale Scam.

Hitting out at the BJP governments over plight of farmers, Rahul said he asked the CMs of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan to waive farmers' loans within 10 days but they did it in two days.

"I asked the CMs of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan to waive farmers' loans within 10 days. Congress govts did it in 2 days," the Congress president said.
