Patna: Mahatma Gandhi Setu fast becoming ‘suicide point’, 2 deaths in last 3 days

On the morning of July 31, an SUV fell into middle of river Ganga after ramming into the railing of the bridge. A rescue operation is underway for last three days to trace the Scorpio vehicle. However, the mystery continues as no trace of the vehicle is available.

Mahatma Gandhi Setu, the bridge over Ganga river connecting Patna to Hajipur, is fast becoming a suicide point. The bridge has witnessed two deaths in last three days.

On the morning of July 31, an SUV fell into the middle of river Ganga after ramming into the railing of the bridge. A rescue operation is underway for last three days to trace the Scorpio vehicle. However, the mystery continues as no trace of the vehicle has been found.

Amid the ongoing rescue operation by the NDRF and SDRF teams, a young man jumped off the bridge into the river on Friday.

Neither the SUV nor the body of the boy has been recovered so far.
