Punjabi singer Parmish Verma shot at in Mohali, wanted gangster claims responsibility of attack on Facebook

Hours after famous Punjabi singer Parmish Verma and his friend were shot at by unidentified attackers in Mohali, a wanted gangster claimed the responsibility of the attack on his Facebook page. Parmish Verma, known for his popular song 'Gaal Ni Kadni', and his friend were attacked on the intevening night of Friday and Saturday in Mohali when they were returning from an event.

Police said that a white Hyundai Creta car followed singer's car from Chandigarh. It stopped in front of his car near Sector 74 of Mohali and fired shots at him.

While Verma and his friend were injured in the attack, they managed to speed away from the spot. Verma called up a senior police officer of Mohali district for help.

Gangster claims responsibility

Wanted gangster, Dilpreet Singh Dhahan, in his Facebook post claimed responsibility for the attack on Parmish Verma. “Mein dilpreet singh dhahan sariya nu dasna chaunda k ajj parmish verma de goliya bazian apa mariya.(I want to tell everyone that I am behind the shooting of Parmish Verma)," Dhahan's braze post on the social media website read. 

According to reports, Dhahan is on Punjab Police’s list of most-wanted criminals.

Meanwhile, the police said it is investigating the reasons behind the attack on the 31-year-old singer, who shot into limelight with the foot-tapping number in 2017.
