Noida: Authorities begin drive to seal 382 Supertech flats Noida: Authorities begin drive to seal 382 Supertech flats

The crackdown on the alleged illegally built properties in the NCR region continued on Monday as the Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority had begun to seal as many 382 flats and villas at Supertech Czar Suites in Greater Noida.

The Allahabad High Court on January 11 had directed the GNIDA to take appropriate action against Supertech for constructing flats in violation of sanctioned building plans. The apex court had also restricted GNIDA from issuing completion certificate to the project.

The authority came into the action mode just two days before the next hearing of the case on February 8. It said that before it could start to seal the residential units, a detailed scrutiny and measurements for setback area, parking spaces, built-up area and residential unit size was required to be done.

"Teams from the architecture and planning department collected physical details of the number of units the builder has built as part of the project and those sanctioned as per layout plans approved by GNIDA," TOI quoted Deepak Agarwal, chief executive officer, GNIDA, as saying.

"A survey was conducted to determine how many have been constructed without permission, their area and numbers. We have found that 382 units have been constructed in violation of our permissions."

All the flats that have gone under the scanner are unoccupied.

"The process will continue on Tuesday and till all the units are sealed. These units are vacant and not occupied currently," the CEO said.

"We have complied with the court's directions. Our action-taken report, along with our detailed findings, will be filed in our reply during the next hearing, which is on February 8," he added.
