After fatwa, Muslim woman yoga teacher Rafia Naaz's house attacked in Ranchi

The assailants allegedly pelted stones at the house of Rafia Naaz in the Hatia area on Friday, following which security was increased at her residence.

Two days after Muslim woman yoga teacher Rafia Naaz was allegedly threatened by members of her community for performing yoga, her house has now been attacked by unidentified assailants, reports said.

The assailants allegedly pelted stones at the house of Rafia Naaz in the Hatia area on Friday, following which security was increased at her residence.

According to reports, the incident happened after she gave an interview to a TV channel.

Naaz, who was allegedly threatened by members of her community after she performed yoga, had informed the Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) about the incident. Meanwhile, following her meeting with the SSP, the police had provided security to her.

Two quick response teams have been stationed near Naaz's house, Deputy SP Vikas Chandra Srivastav said, adding that senior police personnel have assured security to the teacher and her family. The police are investigating the matter, he said.
