Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Police today issued a lookout notice for two militants who have allegedly shot dead two cops, including an officer, on Saturday in South Kashmir's Ananatnag area.

The militants were caught on camera while fleeing the spot after unleashing the bloodbath. Shortly after the attack, the pictures of militants walking down the road with ease went viral. One of the militants was seen carrying an airbag which probably was used to conceal the AK-47 riffle which he was holding in one hand. It was, however, not known who clicked the picture of the militants.

“The terrorists who killed assistant sub-inspector Bashir Ahmad and constable Riyaz Ahmad in Anantnag on Saturday have been identified. People are hereby requested that the concerned police should be informed in case these ultras are spotted in their areas…," reads the public notice in Urdu, asking people to inform police and help in their arrest if they are seen in the area.

The notice, written in Urdu, contains the screen-grabs of the amateur video shot by unknown persons that went viral on social media.It identified the militants as Junaid Ahmad Mattoo, son of Manzoor Ahmad, resident of Khudwani Kulgam and another militant has been identified as Ali, who is believed to be a foreign national. Both owe their allegiance to Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral prayers for ASI Bashir Ahmad and constable Reyaz Ahmad. Mr Ahmad is survived by his wife and 11-year-old son and constable Reyaz Ahmad Sheikh is survived by his wife, three children including two daughters less than 10 years old.

On Friday, three BSF personnel were killed and seven others were injured after terrorists ambushed their convoy at Bijbehara.
