Delhi to get temporary relief from intense heat; rains, thunderstorm likely today

The national capital remains in the grip of intense heat over the past few days, recording a high of 41 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has predicted slight relief from the scorching heat as Delhi is likely to receive light rains during the day today. According to the forcecast, the national capital is likely to witness cloudy sky or thunderstorm.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 40 degrees Celsius, the city's meteorological station said. The minimum temperature, is however, will settle at 24.8 degrees Celsius.

The relative humidity recorded at 8.30 am was 54 per cent.

On Thursday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature settled at 41 degrees Celsius.

On Tuesday, Palam recorded a sizzling high of 45.3 degrees Celsius, equalling the record high of April 25, 1970.
