Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal attacked with chilli powder inside Secretariat; accused arrested, FIR registered

  A case was registered against the accused,  identified as 40-year-old Anil Kumar.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was attacked with chili powder inside the Secretariat premises on Tuesday. The accused identified as 40-year-old Anil Kumar, was arrested by the police following the incident. A case against him was also registered by the Delhi Police in this regard. 

The attack was reported at around 2:30 pm.

The incident took place outside the chief minister's chamber on the third floor when he was leaving for lunch.  

According to reports, the accused resides in Naraina area of the national capital.

As per Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sources, chilli powder was thrown at the chief minister and his spectacles were broken during the attack.

The accused was later taken to the police station where further investigation is underway, they said.
