At least three people were killed and 10 others injured after a major fire broke out at Mohan Park area of Shahdara in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The blaze erupted in the parking lot of an apartment where electric rickshaws were parked.

A call was received at 5:06 am about fire breaking out in the parking area of a house. The fire spread through the
four-storeyed building, said a senior official from Delhi fire services.

Five fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control by 6:30 am, the official said.

Three persons were killed in the fire and are yet to be identified.

The 10 injured people are currently undergoing treatment at G T B Hospital.

Officials suspect that a short-circuit from the rickshaws that were being charged led to the fire.
