Officially, there is prohibition in Bihar. However, the sale and purchase of liquor is still going on in the state.

What is worrying is that even women have started smuggling liquor in the state.

On Tuesday, police arrested two women in Katihar who were carrying liquor. They were carrying 300 tetra packs and 20 bottles of liquor.

Earlier, police did not consider women travelling in trains and buses as potential smugglers of liquor but now it’s clear that they are also becoming part of this racket.

Home-made liquor is being produced at large scale  in places like Begusarai.
