And with social media now surpassing our social lives, world has changed for us in many ways.

Overindulgence with social network results in various social media disorders.
In today's time one just can not survive without logging into their FB or Twitter accounts, let alone food, & water.

Sometimes, you find family living under the same roof, interacting with one another on Facebook just to look cool.
So here are some social media disorders, which exist within us!


Social media anxiety disorder


When your mood and temperament is largely affected by the responses from your virtual world i.e social network.
A 'like' from somebody special would make your day, but a harsh comment would bog you down.

 



Social Network exclusion anxiety


If  You cannot let your  hands off your tablet even for an hour. A sense of insecurity develops when you are off the radar for a substantial time. You are more concerned about your virtual existence then your real existence .

 


Post posting traumatic disorder

After posting an update on your social media accounts, you are driven to check  the no. of likes and comments on your updates on FB or no. of retweets or favorites in case of Twitter.

 

 


Obsessive compulsive refresh disorder

You repeatedly refresh your FB page with a wish to see some frequent changes . If you have published a blog or commented on an issue, you cannot help but keep refreshing your page just to see the no. of views on your blog.

Here we feel compelled to add comments just to show the concerned person that we are paying due attention to their tweets and updates.

 


Twambivalence

When you are in two minds whether to respond to somebody's status or views but still control your urge. When you have an apt rebuttal but still you make your mind to ignore it.

 


Eating disorders

Addiction to social media has often resulted in eating disorders. Here people esp. girls are easily carried away by the online thin images, like how to get thinner and heavily restrict their food intake resulting in anorexia, which are very fatal for the fairer sex.

 


Chronic selfitis


We often see some people spamming our timeline with their boring selfies on daily basis  and they cannot resist this urge  of getting recognised by people.

We are often forced  to like them as they personally request us to do so e.g. “How many Likes for this cute photo” A few will take it otherwise if do not add some positive comments.
