You want your loved one to quit smoking but he or she is not ready to! You know well how unhealthy it is but still the person is not willing to leave it.

So what will you do in such a condition? Will you just sit back and see your loved one's deteriorating health or will you act smartly?

If you were not aware till now then let us tell you that there are several home remedies or home cures using which you can help a person leave his or her habit of smoking  even if the person is not willing. If you help the person maintain a regular routine of treating according to the recommendations given below or do these for him or her then definitely you will see some difference.

So, instead of running to doctors or feeling helpless, give a try to one of these home remedies suggested below –

1) Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne Pepper is easily available. It desensitizes the respiratory system to tobacco and chemical irritants present in smoke. Regular consumption of the same can give effective results.

However, one can try it as a remedy also. Add a couple of pinches of Cayenne Pepper in powdered form to a glass of water and drink daily. This is especially helpful to those who have strong cravings of smoke.

2) Licorice (Mulethi)

Licorice is an expectorant and demulcent herb that helps quit smoking naturally. Its taste helps to kill the urge to smoke. It also helps in relieving smoker's cough.

In order to quit smoking, one needs to chew small stick of licorice root in order to satisfy the urge. Even drinking tea made of licorice roots is equally helpful. One should drink it atleast three times a day.

Do remember that licorice should not be used as a remedy by those who have diabetes, high blood pressure, adrenal disease or reduced kidney or liver functioning.

3) Vitamin C rich fruits

Smoking creates deficiency of Vitamin C in the body to a great extent. Hence in order to get rid of the habit, one thing that the person needs to do essentially is to take a lot of Vitamin C rich diet. For this, one can eat citrus fruits like Oranges, grape fruits etc.

4) Radish

Radish is yet another reliable home remedy to quit smoking. Grate a radish and take out its juice. Mix it with honey and drink this juice atleast 2 times a day.

The most important thing while helping someone get rid of smoking is to help him or her fight the urge. These home remedies apart from fighting with deficiencies, also makes a person's immune system strong enough to fight the habit so one can always give them a try. However, it is very important that one may continue with them for some time as they may not show results immediately.
