Karnataka CM swearing in ceremony: MK Stalin, an invitee among other 'like-minded' leaders

According to reports, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are expected to fly to Delhi again on Friday to decide on the Cabinet.

Stage is set and invitations have been sent out for the oath-taking ceremony of Siddaramaiah, who was declared as chief minister-designate for Karnataka by Congress. DK Shivakumar, who was also aspiring for the post, was declared to be the deputy CM.

According to reports, Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar are expected to fly to Delhi again on Friday to decide on the Cabinet.

Leaders like DMK's MK Stalin, JMM's Hemant Soren, JD-U's Nitish Kumar, RJD's Tejashvi Yadav, CPI-M's Sitaram Yechuri, Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray, NCP's Sharad Pawar, NC's Farooq Abdullah and PDP's Mehbooba Mufti have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Siddaramaiah called up Stalin over phone today and invited him to participate in the swearing-in ceremony on May 20.

In the May 10 elections to the 224-member Karnataka Assembly, the Congress scored an emphatic victory by bagging 135 seats, while the ruling BJP and the former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda-led Janata Dal (Secular) secured 66 and 19 seats respectively.
