NIA raids multiple locations in Srinagar in case linked to terror activities

Reportedly, Monday's operation was initiated based on the specific intelligence received by the officials regarding the terror suspects residing in Srinagar.

As a part of an ongoing probe into terrorism-related activities, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted a series of raids at nine locations in Jammu and Kashmir's Shrinagar. According to the reports, the raids, initiated early on Monday, were made based on the specific intelligence received by the officials regarding the presence of suspects in Srinagar. Reportedly, the sources familiar to the matter said, security forces were mobilized to apprehend individuals believed to be connected to The Resistant Front (TRF), a branch of a designated terrorsist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The associates of TRF are being held for its involvement in militant activities.

Further, it is pertinent to note that the TRF and LeT are under the scanner of the investigative of the for exploiting social media platforms such as Twitter, Telegram, and YouTube channels to disseminate extremist ideologies and target vulnerable individuals, particularly unemployed youth, into their ranks under the pretext of 'Jihad'.
