Los Angeles: Call it a mere coincidence or a sign, but a website had ran a story stating that the Fast Furious fame Paul Walker, had died on Friday whereas the actor met with the fatal accident on Saturday.

A popular news site, MediaMass.net is believed to be responsible for this hoax. The site even quoted one of Walker's representatives as denying the report.

"He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimised by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the internet”, said Walker's representative, responding to the quote.

The rumours are further said to spread when a social networking page ‘R.I.P. Paul Walker' got around one million likes.

Just a bad fate gone completely wrong, Paul Walker, the star of "Fast & Furious" movie series, died Saturday in a car crash, north of Los Angeles. He was 40.
