A man who claims to be Angelina Jolie's former drug dealer says the star was high on cocaine when she took part in a Charlie Rose TV interview back in 2000, reports Daily Mail, London.

According to Franklin Meyer, the then-25-year-old actress visited him both before and after the interview to buy cocaine.'She'd taken coke,' he told Life & Style magazine. 'She did the show and then she came back over after.'

Meyer, who spent eight months in Rikers jail for cocaine possession in 2002, claims to have first met the actress in New York's Chelsea hotel in 1997.

And he says he met the star two to three times a week after that, either at the hotel or her apartment so she could buy drugs from him.

Meyer says: 'She would generally spend about $100 each time. That would buy maybe half a gram of coke and a 10th of a gram of heroin.'

During the interview with Charlie Rose, Jolie talks about how hard it was to be free of her drug-addicted characters in both Gia and Girl, Interrupted. She says, 'They became friends of mine and they were parts of me.'

The actress also talked about her tattoos, and indicated that her mother was sitting to the right of her off stage.

At times, Rose had to ask her to repeat herself or explain what she meant due to the speed with which she was talking and jumping from one subject to the other.

The actress and her family are currently in Budapest, Hungary as she directs her first feature film, said to be a love story set against the backdrop of the Bosnian war.She is also in talks to star as Cleopatra in James Cameron's next big epic. And Cameron has made it clear he would love for Jolie to be involved.

He says: 'There's a Cleopatra project in work, meaning that it's been in development at Sony. And it's a subject that's always fascinated me. So yeah, I've been talking to them about it but no decisions have been made.

'But it sounds hot, doesn't it? I mean, Angelina Jolie and Cleopatra? To me, that's like a slam dunk. Whether I wind up doing it or not, I think it's going to be a great project.'
