Why Sushant Singh Rajput didn't complete 3-film deal with Yash Raj; contract under scrutiny

Three films contract with Yash Raj Films is under scrutiny after questions over Sushant Singh Rajput losing films. Mumbai Police is investigating the matter behind Sushant Singh Rajput's suicide that took place on June 14. In the wake of the same Aashish Singh has been called for the interrogation to know about the late actor's contract with Yash Raj Films for three movies.

Sushant Singh Rajput had signed a contract with Yash Raj Films for three movies, and the contract was by Aashish Singh from Yash Raj Films. Bandra Police called Ashish Singh for interrogation on Friday. He informed DCP Abhishek Trimukhe that the contract ended on mutual terms and all of them were in touch with the actor later as well. Further, he told the police that there were no hard feelings. He was unable to give more details as he bound by the contract to not talk much about it. The police wanted to know why Sushant did not do the third and final film under Yash Raj banner according to the contract. They also wanted to know why the film was delayed or canceled even though there was a deal. After Sushant's death and wide speculation that he was "depressed" due to losing big banner films. It is also being investigated whether this was the reason why the actor was upset or depressed. 

Sushant Singh Rajput had worked in two Yash Raj Films movies - Shuddh Desi Romance (2013) directed by Maneesh Sharma and in director Dibakar Banerjee directed Detective Byomkesh Bakshy! (2015). His third film with the banner was supposed to be Paani, directed by Shekhar Kapur. However, YRF had reportedly backed out of the project later.

The sudden demise of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput left the country in shock. Not just his fans but many of the industry counterparts too want a deep investigation in the matter. For the unversed, he was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14 and the post mortem reports claimed that he died because of asphyxia due to hanging. However, the investigation in the matter is still going on to find out why he took such a stern step to end his life. In the wake of the same, as many as 23 people have to date been questioned by the Mumbai police. On Thursday, Sushant's close friend Sandip Ssingh reached the Bandra Police Station for the interrogation and today he has been summoned again for the same. Not only him, but the statements of Aashish Singh have also been taken in the matter. Aashish, who was the former VP of YRF informed that the actor's contract ended five years back.

  

Mumbai Police previously sent a letter to Yash Raj Films, seeking details of the contracts it had signed with him. "Police are investigating various angles, including that of professional rivalry, in the case," an official told PTI. Further, the official said, "Keeping in view the professional angle, police have started calling some prominent production houses for inquiry. As part of that, the police on Thursday sent a letter to Yash Raj Films, seeking details of all the contracts it had signed with the deceased actor. We have also asked for the copies of the contracts that Yash Raj Films had signed with the actor."

Coming back to Sandeep, he is the same friend who took the actor's mortal remains from Cooper Hospital to the Vile Parle Crematorium where the last rites of the actor were performed. He recently shared the poster of Sushant's unfinished film 'Vande Bharatam' that would have marked Ssingh's directorial debut. Along with it, he wrote, "You made me a promise. We, the Bihari brothers, will one day rule this industry and be the inspiration/support system for all young dreamers like you and me bhai."

The actor's rumoured girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty's statements have also been recorded. On Thursday, it came to light that the police will also be writing to Twitter to find out the reason behind some of the actor's missing tweets that he deleted before his death. The last tweet made by 'Chhichhore' actor was on December 27, 2019.

On Thursday, the announcement about the late actor's last film 'Dil Bechara' opposite Sanjana Sanghi was made. The film that happens to be the Hindi remake of The Fault In Our Stars will release online on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 24 for all the subscribers and non-subscribers.
