Mumbai Police summoned everyone "except the real suspects or accused": KK Singh

Sushant Singh Rajput's father K.K. Singh on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that Mumbai Police summoned everyone, "except the real suspects or accused" in the case of his son's death, and argued that the mark seen on the actor's neck could be of a belt. Senior advocate Vikas Singh, representing Sushant's father, contended before Justice Hrishikesh Roy that the family has no faith in the investigation of the Mumbai Police and Rhea Chakraborty's role should have been investigated but it was doing something else.

Singh told the apex court that Sushant's family never saw his body hanging and this creates suspicion.

"The larger picture is that my client has lost his son," he said, adding that the Mumbai Police did not listen to Sushant's father and "took the investigations into a completely different direction".

"His daughter could enter after the body was reportedly brought down. Nobody in the family has seen his body hanging," he argued.

Maha government to SC Bihar has to go to polls by year-end so all this is happening

The Maharashtra government during a hearing in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that all the hullabaloo was happening only because it is all about politics, and since Bihar has to go to polls by year-end so all this is happening. Senior advocate A.M. Singhvi, representing the Maharashtra government, contended before Justice Hrishikesh Roy that the Bihar government got involved only to politically exploit the case ahead of the state elections.

Singhvi argued that for a CBI probe, consent by a state is mandatory and the only exceptions are the order of the CBI probe by High Courts and Supreme Court. "And this power must be exercised by a constitutional court sparingly, only in rare cases," submitted Singhvi.

He insisted "the kind of sensationalism attached to this transfer petition is amazing, as every reporter, anchor, lawyer has turned judge and jury. I don't know whether his death was murder or suicide, but I can say the murder of CrPC is being attempted here".

"What kind of an investigation Mumbai Police have been undertaking for the last 50 days? Inquest report proceedings can't be unending. And most importantly, there is nothing pending in Mumbai at the moment," said the counsel.
