New Delhi: After Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh among other freedom fighters of India, it's now turn for Bal Gangadhar Tilak's tale to be unveiled on screen and the man who will essay his role will be Bollywood's veteran actor Om Puri.
The actor has been roped in to portray the role of the Ratnagiri born freedom fighter in the flick titled ‘Chapekar Brothers'. And to enact the role with excellence the actor is doing enough research on Bal Gangadhar Tilak's life.
"It's an honour to play such an iconic personality. I am finding several facets about Tilakji through my research. And there's so much information available on the internet that it will become easier for me to enact him," Om told in an interview to a leading daily.
To be directed by Milann Ajmera, the flick's team too is exploring facts and other information to make the movie look real and historic.
"I also feel that the team has done enough research, which will help me in understanding the nuances of the role. I am confident that I will be able to perform effortlessly with so much background information," Om Puri was quoted as saying further.
The Hindi film will present the glorious journey of Chapekar Brothers who contributed to the freedom struggle in 1897.
Written by Dhiraj Mishra and produced by Ghanshyam Patel of Giriva Productions, the film's shooting has already begun in Vadodara, Gujarat.
