Not just an item number, Kareena Kapoor to do a cameo in Akshay Kumar's 'Gabbar'

It is not just an item number for Kareena Kapoor in 'Gabbar'. 

Kareena who was supposed to do just an item number in Akshay Kumar starrer 'Gabbar', will be doing a cameo instead.

The actress will be seen playing Kumar's wife who is killed in the film's first part. However, she will appear throughout the film in flashback. Kareena Kapoor's character in 'Gabbar' is similar to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's role in 2000 released film 'Mohbbatein'.

Before this Kareena and Akshay have shared screen in blockbuster movie 'Aitraaz'. As per sources , Kareena agreed to do the role because her character propels the story forward.

The film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is the official remake of AR Murugadoss' blockbuster Tamil film "Ramana". In the original, Simran played the role of the late wife of Vijayakanth. 'Gabbar' also stars Shruti Hassan in lead role and the film is expected to go on floor in early 2015.
