New Delhi: Even if Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer ‘Happy New Year' is consistently witnessing a drop in its collection, the movie is still dominating the box office, however there is no big release to give it a competition.

First week gross collection of the movie is Rs 289.50 cr worldwide as per a leading website Koimoi. Rs 227 cr has been collected from the domestic market while from international market Rs 62.50 cr has been fetched. The movie has taken over the gross collection of Salman Khan starrer Dabangg 2 that fetched Rs 256 cr.

Looking on week 2's nett collection, the Farah Khan directorial on its second Friday has collected Rs 7 cr in India thereby taking the eight days total to Rs 164.50 cr.

With eight days total, Happy New Year is just ahead of Shah Rukh Khan's very own ‘Chennai Express', which collected Rs 163.6 cr nett in India. Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 by this time minted Rs 199.08 cr and following it was Hrithik Roshan's ‘Krrish 3' which garnered Rs 176 cr.

This year's earlier release Kick did a nett collection of Rs 173.31 cr and is at third spot in eight days collection list. Hrithik's Bang Bang did a collection of Rs 130.55 cr within the same time period.

The new releases Super Nani and Roar have got a lukewarm response at the box office. The Rekha and Sharman Joshi starrer collected merely Rs 45 lacs on Day 1. On the other hand Roar did mre than thrice collection of Super Nani. Being an action-thriller, it made Rs 1.70 cr nett in India.

With such a response the new releases are getting, Happy New Year should consider itself safe and march its way to Rs 200 cr club. But let's see what happens.
