Bollywood supports no-pregnancy clause (see pics)

Actresses letting projects due to pregnancy is not exactly new in the Bollywood. Kareena Kapoor replaced Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in film 'Heroine', after director Madhur Bhandarkar came to know that Aishwarya was pregnant. The issue was a topic of debate at that time and many A-list celebrities supported the no-pregnancy clause.The no-pregnancy clause is again in the lime light after the news came that Vidya Balan has been reportedly replaced by Kangana Ranaut in Sujoy Ghosh's next film as it is rumored that Vidya is pregnant.In a recent interview Vidya said that she can't get pregnant for next two years as she has signed contracts but it seems that Vidya has contradict her own statement.The incident has again given a rise to the debate of adding no-pregnancy clause in actresses contract. Mukesh Bhatt, who is producing 'Hamari Adhuri Kahani' with Vidya Balan and Emraan Hashmi, feels that no-pregnancy clause should be mandatory. If news of Vidya's pregnancy is true then the fate of the film is uncertain.Hema Malini who was pregnant during the making of 'Satte pe Satta' also favours the no-pregnancy clause. The evergreen actress feels that today the clause can be opted as now the producers can finish the shooting in comparatively less time than past. According to her, the clause should be of just six months. Madhur Bhandarkar who allegedly suffered Rs 4 crore loss when he realised that Aishwarya would not be able to do the movie due to her pregnancy went quite viral about the issue at that time. He was quite outspoken about the issue and also claimed that truth was hidden from him.Not only Madhur but many more industry people are supporting to the clause.After 12 years of marriage, Juhi Chawla continues to work in Bollywood, and she is yet to see such a clause. The actress feels that the contract should be signed by all the newly married actresses.Well the issue is still a big debate in the industry and it is not yet cleared that if Bollywood will accept the No-Pregnancy clause or actresses will find some other way out.
