Amitabh Bachchan may have played the policeman to perfection in several Bollywood films, but it was Abhishek Bachchan who got mistaken for a cop and that too in Goa, says a media report.

The actor, shooting for Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum —which is based on the underbelly of Goa, has been effortlessly blending with the social scene on Goa streets and passing off as a local.

But, in a step further in his quest for realism, Abhishek who plays a policeman in the film has been cruising on his mobike looking every inch the Goan cop.

He wears the dress, rides the bike, has the manner and speaks the language so comfortably, that he's unrecognisable. And Rohan Sippy has been able to shoot his outdoor sequences without the local population being any wiser.

In one sequence, which has Abhishek confronting a bunch of hooligans, the locals quickly dispersed thinking it was a real encounter between the cop and the criminals.

And this week, when he was on his bike at a traffic signal, a family in a car asked him for directions to a location.

Abhishek, who knows every inch of Goa, since he shot two back-toback films there — Ashutosh Gowariker's Khelenge Hum Jee Jaan Se and now Dum Maro Dum —obliged the family and sent them on their way.
