Kay Kay Menon’s crime-thriller film Vodka Diaries’s trailer is out. The film features Mandira Bedi and Rimi Sen in important roles apart from Menon himself. It has been directed by Kushal Srivastava who is making his directorial debut with this upcoming thriller drama. Going by the trailer, the film revolves around a series of murders and a policeman who is challenged by an anonymous caller to solve the mystery overnight. Kay Kay Menon steps into the shoes of ACP Ashwini Dixit, who is on his heels to crack the code of these murders.
Ashwini Dixit’s life is turned upside down when his wife played by Mandira Bedi is abducted. The caller threatens him to solve the mystery before time runs out. In this one and a half minute trailer, nothing much has been revealed. But one thing is for sure, Vodka Diaries’ trailer is giving us few flashes of popular TV series Sherlock.
Major portions of the film have been shot at the snowy Manali valley, adding the eerie factor to the film. The white valleys of Manali are making this edge-of-the-seat crime thriller even more spine-chilling. In many sequences of the trailer, Kay Kay Menon is seen breaking down a several times.
Talking about Mandira Bedi, the actress has played a role with a similar bottom-line in last year’s Ittefaq. Vodka Diaries has been bankrolled by Vishal Karkera, Vishal Raj, Kushal Srivastava, Atul Papneja and Vivek Sudhindra Kulshrestha. The crime-thriller is slated to release on 19 January.
