Taapsee Pannu is one of those Bollywood actresses who can easily get into the skin of any character. 2018 was a fantastic year for the actress as she featured in some good films like Manmarziyaan, Soorma and Mulk. The actress, who is now paying attention to her Badminton team will soon start shooting for her next Womaniya. Taapsee was also roped in for Anurag Basu's multi-starrer project based on the lines of his previous directorial Life..in a Metro, but unfortunately, she had to walk out of it.

A report in DNA suggests that Taapsee decided to quit the movie as she had to start shooting for Tushar Hiranandani's directorial debut Womaniya and there was no clarity of dates regarding Basu's film. When Taapsee asked Basu about the schedule, Basu failed to give any clear idea, hence, the actress decided to make an exit from the project.

Anurag Basu's yet untitled movie has Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapur and Abhishek Bachchan in pivotal roles. Basu wanted Taapsee to play opposite Aditya Roy Kapur.

On a related note, Womaniya which also stars Bhumi Pednekar is being co-produced by Anurag Kashyap. The movie is based on Chandro and her sister-in-law Prakashi Tomar of Uttar Pradesh, who are the world's oldest sharpshooters. Meanwhile, Taapsee will also be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal. The Pink actress is playing the role of a government official Kritika Agarwal. Earlier, sharing the first look on her Instagram, she wrote, ‘Kritika Agarwal, Navigation and Communication Department, reporting on duty #MissionMangal #FirstDay #FireTheEngines”. Mission Mangal is directed by Jagan Shakti and co-produced by PadMan director R Balki.
