Soorma, starring Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu traces former Indian Hockey captain Sandeep Singh's journey from his childhood to his heroic comeback after being paralysed.

The trailer of sports film Soorma is out. Directed by Shaad Ali, the film is based on a true story of former captain of Indian Hockey team, Sandeep Singh. While Diljit Dosanjh will be playing the titular role, the film also stars Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi. 

Soorma is the story of Singh's sheer determination and unrelenting passion for hockey. It traces Sandeep Singh's journey from his childhood to his heroic comeback after being paralysed. Singh is popularly known as Flicker Singh as his drag speeds is of over 145 km/hr. After an accidental gunshot in 2006, Singh was confined to wheelchair for two years. However, the man got back on his feet making a comeback to international hockey in 2008. Under the captaincy of Singh, Indian hockey won the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup and also qualified for the 2012 London Olympics.

 

​Soorma is written by Shaad Ali and produced by Sony Pictures Networks Productions, Chitrangda Singh and Deepak Singh. The movie is slated to hit theatres on July 13.  So without further ado, watch the trailer below:
