Shahid Kapoor walks out of Imtiaz Ali's next, Rajkummar Rao replaces him

Imtiaz's film was a two-hero project and after Shahid moved out of the film, Rajkummar has stepped into his role.

There was a lot of buzz about the much-awaited collaboration of Shahid Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali. The actor-director due were excited about their reunion and announced it when their first movie, Jab We Met clocked ten years. While Shahid confirmed the reports during promotions of Padmaavat, Imtiaz also approved it by asserting that it is not a travel-oriented movie.

The flick was expected to go on floors this April but it couldn't happen. Now, informing a tabloid, Shahid said that the film has gone on the backburner and he will work on it next year.

However, the latest development is that Sasha has opted out of Imtiaz's project. A report in Pinkvilla states that Rajkummar Rao has replaced Shahid Kapoor. A source told the website, ''Shahid Kapoor was very excited about this film. He even gave a look test for this in November, last year. But then after that things didn't fall into place. There were some issues with the script and both Shahid and Imtiaz decided to put the movie on the backburner. However, now Shahid has completely pulled out of the movie. He has told Imtiaz that he cannot do it and has taken up other projects too. Imtiaz has accepted this decision and there are no ill feelings between the actor and the director''.

Interestingly, it was a two-hero project and after Shahid moved out of the film, Rajkummar has stepped into his role. Now, the hunt for Rao's replacement has begun. Imtiaz is also making changes in the script to suit the personality of Rao.
