After Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju, which released on June 29, the cinema halls have today opened to Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3. The film also stars Chitrangada Singh, Deepraj Rana, Soha Ali Khan, Nafisa Ali, Kabir Bedi and Deepak Tijori in pivotal roles. Directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, the film is likely to have a face-off between Sanjay and Jimmy. The songs also have shots of Russian Roulette.
Director Tigmanshu Dhulia said he always tried to take cinema forward in terms of performances, story and music.
Sanjay Dutt plays the role of a gangster in Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster 3. Asked why he approached Sanjay Dutt with this role, Dhulia said, “There is a structure and format to Saheb… series. Saheb and Biwi’s characters remain the same but the gangster of each part keeps changing. In the first, there was Randeep Hooda who played the character of gangster and in the second part, Irrfan Khan played it.”
“It is growing as a franchise in terms of its scale and storyline so, it was obvious that we couldn’t have had a better gangster than Sanjay Dutt… if we don’t find anyone then I will play the part of a gangster in the fourth part (laughs).”
In Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3, Jimmy Sheirgill plays the saheb, Mahie Gill will be seen as his wife with Sanjay Dutt as a gangster.
Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster, which released in 2011, featured Randeep Hooda, Mahie Gill and Jimmy Sheirgill in lead roles. The second installment featured Irrfan Khan and Soha Ali Khan while Randeep Hooda's character was written out.
The almost three minutes long Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster was packed with action, drama, romance, gangsters and everything which defines a Tigmanshu Dhulia movie. The trailer opens with Jimmy Shergill’s monologue. Playing royalty whose only aim in life is to earn more money, Shergill is as impressive as ever. Mahie Gill is the ‘biwi’, slaying yet again in her bold avatar.
