Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati is mired in controversies ever since its first poster was out. Not only this, many things are going on in the film industry that have become the topic of discussion. Malayalam film S Durga and Marathi film Nude were unceremoniously removed from Indian Panorama section of the 48th International Film Festival of India without consulting the jury members. Now, actor Prakash Raj has reacted on these three films in his latest tweet and raised the question of intolerance.

Prakash took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “To whomsoever it may concern..One wants to cut a nose..one wants to behead an artist..One wants to shoot an actor down… and the system wants to remove certain films from a film festival in spite of being selected by a jury..And you want us to believe that there are no acts of intolerance ..?silencing voices.. ?terrorizing ..?…..#justasking.”

The protest against Bhansali’s film is getting uglier with every minute. Lately, lead actress Deepika Padukone was threatened that her nose will be chopped just like Shurpanakha.

On the other hand, IFFI jury head, Sujoy Ghosh stepped down from his position after the two films were dropped by the list.

Prakash, who has given many powerful performances in films like Singham and Golmaal Again, has indeed raised an important question that can surely start a debate in the nation.
