The Mumbai Police Cyber Cell has filed an FIR against All India Bakchod or AIB’s Tanmay Bhat for 'making fun of' Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The FIR was registered under section 500 (defamation) of IPC and 67 IT act (Punishment for publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) taken at cyber police station at Bandra-Kurla Complex. Sanjay Saxena, joint commissioner of police, confirmed the development.

On Thursday, the comedy group took to their Twitter handle and posted a photo of a Modi lookalike with a Snapchat dog filter and captioned it 'Wanderlust'. However, the plethora of fans of the Prime Minister took offence, and in return, the AIB has to face their wrath.

One of the Twitterati, Reetesh Maheshwari, tagged the Mumbai Police and said that strict action should be taken against the organisation for such a 'disrespectful' joke against the Prime Minister.

The Mumbai Police immediately responded, saying they would forward the matter to the cyber police station. "Thank you for bringing this to our notice.We are forwarding this to the cyber police station," the Mumbai Police tweeted.
