Madhuri Dixit is currently gearing up for her next release Total Dhamaal with Anil Kapoor. During the trailer launch of the film, director Indra Kumar has confirmed that he’ll be remaking the hit 1990 film Dil, which will reportedly be titled Dil Again. However, it’s not yet confirmed if he will rope in Madhuri Dixit and Aamir Khan in the lead roles or not. The filmmaker has finalised the script of the sequel and is in search for actors to play the lead.
He told DNA, “I had been planning to make the sequel to Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer Dil for some time now. We have cracked a script and called it Dil Again.”
Aamir Khan and Madhuri Dixit’s Dil was remade n Telugu in 1993 with the name Tholi Muddhu. It had Divya Bharti and Prashanth in the lead roles. Apart from this, it was also remade in Odia as Agni Parikshya and in Kannada as Shivaranjini.
Indra Kumar’s upcoming film Total Dhamaal has the original cast retained along with few new additions. It has Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit reunited after 19 years.
Total Dhamaal is the third instalment of Dhamaal series. Previously, the film also had Sanjay Dutt in an important role. The film was slated to release in December, however, the post production pushed the release date further to February 22.
