Bollywood celebrities took to their social media accounts to wish their countrymen a Happy Republic Day.

As the nation celebrates 70th Republic Day today with great fervour, patriotism and pride, Bollywood celebrities extend warm wishes to their fans and followers through social media. After getting Independence on August 15, 1947, India got its constitution on January 26, 1950. On this day, India became a sovereign, democratic, republic. On this day, an extravagant parade is held on Rajpath which is attended by President, Prime Minister and foreign dignitaries.

Bollywood celebrities such as Sonam Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, Vicky Kaushal and John Abraham among others took to their social media accounts to wish their countrymen a Happy Republic Day. ''70th year. Bless our Republic! No nation like India! Keep the fervour,'' wrote ailing Rishi Kapoor, who is undergoing treatment in New York. ''I wish all my fellow Indians a very Happy Republic Day. It's important that we take today, and every day to realize how lucky we are to live in this great country!#HappyRepublicDay.
