Diljit Dosanjh who will be featuring in the upcoming movie Welcome To New York, lands in some legal trouble. An FIR has been filed against the actor for hurting religious sentiments of Sikh community by singing the song. According to the reports, a source close to Dosanjh told a leading daily that Sikh petitioner Jasjeet Singh has been offended by the song because Sikhs keep their Katar (daggers) in their pant and not guns with them.

"The petitioner has alleged that the lyrics go against the principles of Sikhism. He suggests Diljit Dosanjh should have respected the teachings of the community before singing the song. Diljit has never faced a situation like this one before," the source added.

The reports suggest that Diljit Dosanjh’s team of lawyers are handling the matter as of now. The petition has been filed in Amritsar and Mumbai. The hearing will take place next month.

Yesterday, it was reported that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan’s song for Welcome To New York may also have landed director Vashu Bhagnani in legal trouble. And now, Diljit Dosanjh finds himself in legal soup. The filmmakers have not said anything about the matter.

Welcome To New York is an upcoming Indian 3D comedy film which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Sonakshi Sinha, Karan Johar, Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani. The film is slated to release on February 23, clashing with Luv Ranjan’s Sonu Ke  Teetu Ki Sweety.
