New Delhi: Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has been one of the most sought after couples of Bollywood.

The couple not just share an amazing bond off screen, but also startles every one with their sizzling chemistry on the silver screen.

No wonder Ranveer-Deepika has become Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s favourite couple.

After the commendable success of his magnum opus ‘Bajirao Mastani’, Bhansali has reportedly, roped in Ranveer-Deepika for his next periodical drama – ‘Padmavati’.

Indeed, it has sent out a wave of excitement amongst the couple’s fans.

However, as per the recent buzz, the ‘Gunday’ actor won’t be playing Deepika’s husband in ‘Padmavati’. Instead a newcomer is said to have been signed opposite DP.

We are talking about Vicky Kaushal, the actor who has proved his worth in movies like ‘Zubaa’ and ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’.

“He has auditioned for the role (of Deepika Padukone’s husband). He is in talks but nothing is finalised yet,” a source reportedly told an entertainment portal.

On the other hand, Vicky too has maintained the suspense over the reports.

“I don’t want to say anything about Padmavati. I will start shooting my next film, Manmarziyan, soon,” Kaushal told a leading daily.

So far, no official announcement has been made neither by the makers nor by any of the actors about this.

‘Padmavati’ is said to be based on the love story of a ruthless ruler Alauddin Khilji, who loses his heart to Mewar’s Rani Padmavati.

The film is expected to hit theatres in December 2017.
