Bollywood expresses grief after fire breaks out at iconic RK studios

The fire reportedly spread out from the electrical wing at the ground floor to the rest of the part.

A massive fire broke out at Mumbai's iconic RK studios destroying the sets of the reality show Super Dancer 2. However, no casualties were reported as no shooting was underway. The team has already shot couple of episodes and will be resuming the shoot soon. As per reports, the sets will be reconstructed by the first week of October.The fire reportedly spread out from the electrical wing at the ground floor to the rest of the part.The flames were controlled with the help of six fire tenders and five water tankers by the eveningThe fire reportedly spread out from the electrical wing at the ground floor to the rest of the part. Rishi Kapoor took to Twitter to express his grief. ''Sad a major fire broke out at RK Studios. We have lost the iconic Stage 1. Thankfully no causalities nor injuries. All you concerns appreciated,'' he wrote on the micro-blogging site. 

Many prominent faces of Bollywood faternity also expressed their sadness over the damage. Farah Khan, Anupam Kher, Farhan Akhtar also showed their concern on Twitter.

The studio was established by legendary star Raj Kapoor in 1948. Aag was the first film to be made under the banner. Later the responsibility of the studio was taken over by Randhir Kapoor after the showman's demise in 1988.
