April 2018 offered a wide range of movie genres to the audience. From unusual romance to horror comedy, Bollywood left cinema lovers spoilt for choices. While Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail failed to impress the audience, Varun Dhawan’s cinematic charm in Shoojit Sircar’s October was widely appreciated. However, when it comes to box-office rating, did the films succeed in raking in the much-needed moolah? Well, find out right here.

Blackmail

April 2018 kick-started with Irrfan Khan starrer Blackmail which hit the theatres on April 6. The Abhinay Deo filmdepicts life of a middle-aged married-man stuck in a full day-time job and unexciting life but things turn after he finds that his wife is having an extramarital affair. Blackmail also features Kirti Kulhari, Divya Dutta, Arunoday Singh, Omi Vaidya, Anuja Sathe, Pradhuman Singh Mall and Gajraj Rao.

The box-office collection of Blackmail stands at a decent total of decent total of Rs 20.20 crore.

Missing

Tabu and Manoj Bajpayee’s crime thriller Missing doomed at the box-office. Missing earned only Rs 86 Lakh at the box-office.

The film, directed by Mukul Abhyankar was like just another crime patrol episode with an extended runtime of 2 hours. A child goes missing, and the entire police force is deployed to investigate her sudden disappearance. There are not one but many loopholes in the film, as many as Inspector Buddhu found in Titli’s missing case.

October

The Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu starrer October minted a little less than Rs 45 crore in its run of two weeks. Interestingly named, the movie October saw Shoojit Sarkar at the helm as director while the script has been written by Juhi Chaturvedi. The duo has worked on movies like Piku and Vicky Donor in the past.

Daas Dev

Acclaimed filmmaker Sudhir Mishra came back to the silver screen with a retelling of Chandra’s classic novel Devdas. Starring Rahul Bhat as Dev Pratap Chauhan, Richa Chadha as Paro and Aditi Rao Hydari as Chandni, Daas Dev hit the theatres on April 27. The film reportedly earned Rs 76 lakh at the box-office.

Beyond The Clouds

Majid Majdi’s Beyond The Clouds starraing newbie actors Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohan hit the screens on April 20. The film had great expectations but rather felt flat at the box-office. The total earning of the film stand at Rs 2 crore.

Nanu ki Jaanu

Nanu Ki Jaanu is a horror comedy starring Abhay Deol and Patralekha, which chronicles an unusual love story between a crook and a ghost. It released on April 20, clashing  Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds.  The lifetime box-collection of Nanu Ki Jaanu stands at Rs 4 crore.
