Bajrangi Bhaijaan continues to shine at Chinese box office, beats Aamir Khan’s PK

Superstar Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan has crossed Rs 100 cr mark in China.

Superstar Salman Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is storming the Chinese box office. The movie was recently released in the country and it has crossed Rs 100 crore mark within a week. The film has crossed the lifetime business of Aamir Khan starrer PK and became the third highest grosser Indian movie of China. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 117.40 cr. Dangal stands on the first spot with Rs 1200 crore whereas Secret Superstar has minted more than Rs 800 crore in the Chinese market.

Recently, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “#BajrangiBhaijaan is a SUCCESS STORY in CHINA... Strong word of mouth has translated into strong biz...Fri $ 2.26 mn, Sat $ 3.12 mn, Sun $ 3.16 mn, Mon $ 1.75 mn, Tue $ 1.83 mn, Wed $ 1.92 mn, Thu $ 4.01 mn. Total: $ 18.05 million [₹ 117.49 cr]

Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released as Little Lolita Monkey God Uncle in China and on its opening day itself, the movie surpassed the lifetime collection of Aamir’s 3 Idiots. Salman’s film got the widest release in China with 8000 screens which is more than Dangal and Secret Superstar.

Along with Salman, Kabir Khan’s directorial venture also starred Harshaali Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles. The movie showcased the journey of a man who decides to reunite a lost speech-impaired Pakistani girl child with her parents. On the other hand, PK narrated the journey of an alien who questions the religious beliefs of people.
