Actor Akshay Kumar and actress Bhumi Pednekar received positive response for their wonderful performance in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The movie which promoted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachch Bharat Abhiyan also did wonders at the box office. Now, philanthropist and business mogul Bill Gates on Tuesday listed seven inspiring tweets in 2017 and Akshay’s film made it to the list. To end 2017 on a good note, he listed six stories and articles from around the world that inspired him in the ‘tough year’.

Bill took to micro-blogging site Twitter and tweeted, “There’s no denying that 2017 was a really tough year... but it also delivered some amazing moments of hope and progress. Here are some inspiring tweets that you may have missed…”

About Akshay’s film, Gates wrote, “Toilet: A Love Story,” a Bollywood romance about a newlywed couple, educated audiences about India’s sanitation challenge.”

Toilet: Ek Prem Katha deals with the issue of open defecation and narrated the story of a couple. Directed by Shree Narayan Singh, the movie not only spread a good message but also did wonders at the box office. It entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Akshay and Bhumi shared the screen space for the first time in the film.
