Actor Vijay Varma, who was a part  of the Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boys is on cloud nine as megastar Amitabh Bachchan has reached out to personally congratulate him, who plays Moeen, an almost brother-like figure to Ranveer’s Murad, in the film. Vijay was also part of 2016’s Pink, which starred Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu.

“I observed you in Pink, I have lauded you in Gully Boy, the ease of your performance, in a complex role how wonderfully you have played it. So proud of you. Love and wishes ever,” wrote Amitabh Bachchan.

Vijay tweeted pictures of the letter and wrote, “That’s it! Thappa lag gaya:) I’m so honoured and touched by your kind gesture @SrBachchan sir. It took me some time to process this one. Always in awe and love.”

Before this, Amitabh Bachchan sent special letters to Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

"Working with Zoya Akhtar is like a dream come true. She is one of the finest directors we have in the country and I am eagerly looking forward to shoot this one. Also sharing screen space with the mighty Ranveer Singh is going to be fun," Vijay Varma earlier said in a statement.

Last seen on-screen in Monsoon Shootout, Vijay played a rapper in Gully Boy,, a story of four friends who are local rappers in the midst of overcrowded and bustling Mumbai. Vijay is one of the rappers who will be sharing screen space with Ranveer, Alia Bhatt and Kalki Koechlin.
