According to result data declared on Election Commission site, Bharatiya Janata Party's Vinod Singh had won the seat with a close margin of 1,009 votes, bagging 42.24% of total votes. Samajwadi Party candidate Anoop Sanda followed, with a voter percentage of 41.78%.
Assembly election in Sultanpur was held in the fifth phase on February 27. According to previous election results, BJP may have an edge over SP as the saffron party has won this seat 4 times while Samajwadi Party won it 3 times.
