Bommanahalli Election 2023: BJP's Sathish Reddy wins by over 24,000 votes

The election to the 224-member Legislative Assembly in Karnataka will be held on May 10 while the results for the high-stake polls will be declared on May 13.

Bommanahalli Election 2023: BJP candidate Sathish Reddy M won the Bommanahalli seat in Karnataka with a margin of 24215 votes. He defeated Congress candidate Umapathy Srinivasa Gowda. Reddy secured a total of 1,13,574 votes while Gowda polled 89,359 votes. As per the Election Commission data, Janata Dal (Secular) candidate K Narayan Raju polled 1.6 per cent of the counted votes while Aam Aadmi Party's Sitharamu secured 0.92 per cent of the vote share.

Bommanahalli Assembly Constituency falls under the Bangalore South Lok Sabha constituency. It is a general category assembly seat. BJP leader Sathish Reddy is currently serving as the MLA of this constituency.

The constituency is quite densely populated. It has a mix of developed and developing areas with a large number of high-rise apartment complexes and commercial hotspots. The main problems in the region include traffic congestion and pedestrian safety.

Reddy witnessed a fight from Congress' Umapathy Srinivas Gowda, AAP' Sitaram Gundappa and K Narayan Raju, a candidate of Janata Dal (S). 

In 2018, Sathish Reddy of BJP won this seat by defeating Sushma Rajagopala Reddy of Congress with a margin of 47,162 votes.
