Mizoram: After steering MNF to thumping win in assembly polls, Zoramthanga takes oath as CM

MNF bagged 26 seats out of the 40-member Assembly in the recently concluded state elections.

Mizo National Front (MNF) President Zoramthanga was on Saturday sworn in as the Chief Minister of Mizoram. Governor Kummanam Rajasekharan administered the oath of office and secrecy to Zoramthanga and his Council of Ministers at Raj Bhavan located in Aizawl.

Chief Ministers of other northeastern states were present during the ceremony.

MNF bagged 26 seats out of the 40-member Assembly in the recently concluded state elections. 

This will be for the third term that the MNF if forming the government in Mizoram and after a long gap of ten years. Earlier it had run governments during 1998 to 2008 for two consecutive terms and was headed as Zoramtanga as Chief Minister.
