Rahul Gandhi, the son of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, was named as Congress president in 2017. Since then, he has been the recipient of praises and jibes in equal measure.   • Rahul Gandhi holds degrees from the prestigious universities of Cambridge, Harvard, Delhi, and Rollins.
  • He started his career with a management consulting firm, Monitor Group in London, where he worked for around three years.
  • After coming to India, he established his own outsourcing firm in 2004, which was based in Mumbai and named Backops Services Private Ltd.
  • In May 2011, he was arrested in UP while meeting the farmers in Bhatta Parsaul and got released after three hours.
  • Like his grandmother, Indira Gandhi and father Rajiv Gandhi, Rahul will contest the general elections 2019 from two seats -- Amethi and Wayanad.
