DU PG admission 2018: Delhi University has decided to conduct entrance examination for admission to postgraduate courses, MPhil and PhD online from this year onwards.

“It is an Executive Council (EC) resolution… so the entrance test will be online this year. The conducting and implementing part, however, is with the examination department,” a senior official at the university said. 

The plan was marred by protests by student organisations last year, who argued that the online test will become a disadvantage to students coming from poor and backward regions.

Earlier this year, Delhi university had invited online bids for conducting the examination in 18 cities.

# The entrance test would consist of objective-type questions and will be conducted in English/Hindi in three shifts.

A private organisation will be given responsibility to organise the test and thereafter declare the results.

# At present, the Delhi University offers over 50 PG courses. The entrance is organised to fill 50 per cent postgraduate seats, while the remaining are reserved for direct admission for Delhi University students.

# The MSc faculty has decided the minimum eligibility for PG admission-- for direct admission, a candidate needs to score 60 per cent at the undergraduate level, while it is 55 per cent for admission through entrance test.

Process for Online entrance test

# At the undergraduate level, online tests are held for Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Management Studies, Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis, Bachelor in Music, Bachelor in Elementary Education, courses offered by the Cluster Innovation Centre (CIC) and the five-year integrated programme of Delhi School of Journalism.

# As per latest information, there is no change in the admission policy for UG courses in 63 colleges.
