Tuesday morning came as a relief to many people who cannot bear the sound of firecrackers and many others were left disheartened when the Supreme Court fixed 8 pm-10 pm time slot for bursting of firecrackers on Diwali and other festivals. The court said firecrackers with minimal sound pollution will only be allowed to be sold in the market by licensed traders. On the other hand, the online trade of firecrackers has been completely banned. One of the main festivals of the Hindus, Diwali is all about firecrackers for many people in our country and limiting the use of which has left them irritated and angry. As the result, the verdict opened the floodgates of memes featuring Supreme Court as the villain to their satisfaction of burning cherry bombs and rockets.

One Twitter user is angry that the court hasn’t done anything about the mass slaughter of animals on Eid but lighting firecrackers on Diwali is pinching every organization including PETA and the Supreme Court. Another user tweeted, “Dear #SupremeCourt, also tell us how much oil is to be pour in the lamp and how long should they continue to burn during #Diwali.” Here are all the hilarious reactions of Twitterati.
