Chiharu Obtata and Yuto Ninaga were so impressed with Tamilian culture that they flew down to Madurai all the way from Tokyo to have a South Indian wedding.

Nothing can be more grand than Indian weddings. Mostly known for their pomp and show, Indian weddings not only give a sneak peek into our rich culture but also marks a great occasion for family get-together. From distant relatives to forgotten friends, wedding marks a reunion with our loved ones. Not only Indians but even foreigners are fascinated with the rituals, traditions, songs and dance that are inherent part of the ceremonies. The love is so much that some couples even come to India to make their special day more memorable.

Recently, Japanese couple Chiharu Obtata and Yuto Ninaga were so impressed with Tamilian culture that they flew down to Madurai all the way from Tokyo to have a South Indian wedding. They took seven vows around the auspicious fire in South Indian style. The duo already had a small wedding in April, 2017 in Japan, however their love for South India brought them here. 

Obata is doing linguistic research in Tamil Nadu since 2014 and gradually became fond of the state and its culture. The lovebirds contacted a wedding planner who made all arrangements. The wedding took place strictly according to the Tamil rituals which included Sathapathi as well. The pictures of their wedding are now going viral, have a look.
